The Supernova Challenge is Expand North Star’s pitch competition, restructured for 2026 into three funding-stage tracks. Startups compete for a $200,000 equity-free prize pool at the event in Dubai on December 8-10, 2026, with applications open through November 2, 2026. Eligibility is set by how much a startup has raised, not where it is based, so founders can check their own fit before applying.

Who’s eligible for the Supernova Challenge
Expand North Star sorts applicants into three tracks by funding stage, each judged against a different bar:
- Pre-Seed: MVP or prototype stage, less than $250,000 raised.
- Seed: market-ready product, between $250,000 and $3 million raised.
- Series A: between $3 million and $15 million raised, with proven traction.
For Atlaspreneur’s own readers, this splits cleanly by where a founder actually stands. A first-time founder still building an MVP fits Pre-Seed. An SME owner who already has paying customers and is professionalizing the business sits closer to Seed. A founder who has scaled past $3 million in funding and wants international exposure is the Series A case, and that track carries a shorter pitch window (2 minutes instead of 3) with a longer Q&A.
What you get
Organizers describe a $200,000 equity-free prize pool, divided across the three stage categories. Winners also receive mentorship, business setup packages, software and cloud credits, and market access introductions, as stated on the program’s own page. None of these benefits are guaranteed beyond what Expand North Star discloses, so treat the official page as the final word on terms.
How to apply
- Register and submit an application through the e-zone platform.
- Provide proof of funding stage matching one of the three categories above.
- Record and submit a 60-second pitch video in English, filmed to show the founder from the upper body.
- Alternatively, book a startup exhibition pod at Expand North Star. Doing so makes a startup automatically eligible for the Supernova Challenge without a separate application.

English. The application calls for a 60-second video pitch in English, showing the founder’s upper body on camera.
Does booking an exhibition pod guarantee a spot in the pitch competition?
Booking a startup pod at Expand North Star makes a startup automatically eligible for the Supernova Challenge, according to the event’s own program page.
What happens after the application deadline?
Semi-finalists are announced December 1, 2026, then pitch during the semi-finals on December 8-9, with the award ceremony following on December 10.
What do winners actually receive?
A share of the $200,000 equity-free prize pool for their category, plus mentorship, business setup packages, software and cloud credits, and market access introductions, as disclosed by the organizers.
